elementary · the house

The house, and the equipment it makes.

Elementary Digital makes the systems a business runs on, and the plane that runs across them. This page is the wiring: which system serves which department, what Q can do in each today, and what first class will mean.

A riveted steel wall with a junction unit in the centre, one amber indicator, and four armoured cables running up, down, left and right to four plain boxes with empty label frames.

the wiring

Four systems, one plane.

Each system is the equipment of one department. Q runs across them and returns the receipt. The grade on each box is the state of the connection today.

people · identity throughout

Wocha

live · connected

Identity, tenancy and provisioning. Every Q tenant is a Wocha tenant, and the principal on every approval comes from it.

operations

Route Royal

connected over MCP · closest to first class

All of Route Royal's tools are reachable from a run, and two agents write back. Its tools carry idempotency keys and confirmation-required responses, the shape an action binding needs. No binding exists yet.

finance

Vellon

built · billing not switched on

Metering, entitlements, webhooks and a pre-dispatch admission claim are built and disabled by default. Live billing is not yet approved or proven.

records

Black Ink · Chancery

connected for documents

Documents and publishing. Reached as a connected system today; the record it keeps is not yet part of the receipt.

first class

What first class will mean.

A system is first class when the receipt is complete. Four tests, each with where a connected system stands today and what first class adds. No Elementary system passes all four yet.

The action is bound
connected todayQ binds the approval to the action version on its own side.
first classThe system itself enforces the version, so a changed action cannot ride on an earlier decision.
The receipt is signed
connected todayQ records which principal acted.
first classThe receipt is signed by the identity that acted, through Wocha.
The charge lands
connected todaySpend is reserved and settled in Q's own ledger.
first classThe charge lands on the same invoice, through Vellon.
The mandate is revocable
connected todayA mandate is revoked in Q.
first classRevoked in the system of record as well, not only in Q.

what comes next

In this order.

Elementary can make its systems first class because it built both sides. The work is set out in the brief and runs in this order, after the first department runs on Q.

Route Royal
action-version binding enforced in Route Royal
Vellon
live billing, with the charge on the customer's invoice
Wocha
receipts signed by the identity that acted
the journal
already hashes every record · the cryptography comes from InTouch

the published ledger

Elementary runs on Q.

When the first department runs, its ledger is published here, anonymised, on a cadence: runs this period, how many waited for a person, what they cost. Until then the columns are empty, and the page says so.
